I am just not one of those girls who ever wanted a cookie cutter wedding, so when I decided to get married in Destin, Florida, I knew I had to find the perfect wedding planner. I wanted to find a Destin wedding company that would be able to take my odd ball vision for a wedding and transform it into something beautiful. Luckily, I found the perfect people to plan my off beat wedding. When I first met with my planners, I decided to give them a challenge. I gave them a couple of ‘keywords’ to focus on and let them do their thing. Honestly? I never thought anyone could plan a wedding using bare feet, fish, Charlie Chaplin and a carousel as their guiding principles. Was I ever surprised. My wedding day turned out more perfect then even I could have ever imagined. My Destin wedding planners were creative and fun in the way they brought my vision to life.

A beautiful ceremony was arranged on the beach at sunset where the entire wedding, guests and all, were required to go barefoot. My ‘aisle’ was demarked in the sand by the tell tale pattern of Charlie Chaplin’s bare foot penguin walk. Another set of these unique footprints led to the reception tent just up the beach. Sure, they were trampled by the guests, but the effect was simply awesome. My wedding party was waiting at the tent with basins of cool water for the guests to dip their sandy toes into.
The inside of the tent was just a miracle. Destin wedding company had arranged the tables and seating in a circular pattern, reminiscent of a carousel. Interspersed between the tables were large carousel figures that made for perfect wedding photo opportunities. The colors of the decorations were all bold and beautiful – just like the old time carousels. The fish were the really unique part – my centerpieces had live fish swimming in them. Simple glass vases, filled with gorgeous flowers, each held one beautiful beta. The wedding guests were all amazed. It was just great to walk into my reception and hear everyone talking about how unique they were. Even better? My wedding planners arranged a raffle to auction off the fish. The winners got to take home a new pet, complete with a store of fish food, and the proceeds went to my favorite charity. A roving Charlie Chaplin look alike completed the evening and served as entertainment.
Planning an odd-ball wedding in Destin, Florida turned out to be easier then I could imagine. My wedding planners took a bunch of screw ball ideas and turned them into a truly wonderful experience.
